History workshops for care homes, schools and corporate based in Kent, United Kingdom.

Mediæval Workshop for Primary Schools

About the Workshop

For the Mediæval workshop the pupils will be able to look at the different types of helmets and armour used during the Anglo Saxon period up to the Norman invasion of 1066. Learning is enhanced by use of role play and dressing up in Viking, Saxon and Norman armour, as well as re-enacting the pivotol moment of the Battle of Hastings by recreating a shield wall. Pupils will be able to hold different types of shields, chainmail and helmets used during the period and learn about the Saga of Beowulf. After the presentation pupils can make their own mythical creature or dragon out of clay.
