Dinosaurs & Fossils Workshop with Borden CEP Primary School
November 14, 2016
I had a great time at Borden CEP Primary School today! I was very impressed with the knowledge of the pupils who were very polite and well behaved. Some were even aware of the latest Palaeontological research about the mass extinction theory of the Deccan Traps in India:
The different layers shown in the rock here represent basalt lava flows from enormous volcanic eruptions. It is thought that these eruptions released lots of poisonous gases into the atmosphere and contributed to the effects of the asteroid impact which killed off the dinosaurs.
I have included some photographs of the children's excellent clay models below which they kindly allowed me to use on my website. Trixie the Triceratops also had a wonderful time meeting all of the pupils.
